Light Update:

Post by Agamemnon »

Sorry that things have gotten a bit quiet. The real world steam-rolled over me for a while, so I haven't had as much time available as I would like.

Things are now settling back down, however, so I'll be back to eagerly typing away as scheduled.

Just thought I'd keep you posted!

Good News Everyone!
Image

We have, at this point, nailed down the last remaining rules snags. We've squashed the last of our bugs, and everything has been successfully imported over to the Band of Bastards setup.

Now all that remains is to finish this draft of the book before we can beta release. I've got a long night of writing ahead. Wish me luck!

Huzzah!

And there was much rejoicing!

That's great news. Good luck and all the strength to finish the beta.

While Agamemnon wrote this, I was participating in the largest knightly tournament in Estonia.

However, as I wasn't really anticipating the growth of that tangent, I broke that topic into its own thread: http://www.grandheresyforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=44

I guess we're running out of totally radical mind blowing innovations to share, but we have the first three chapters proofread and edited. Several more to go. :)

As Hemingway pointed out, "Writing is rewriting." A lot of time is spent making sure what we write actually makes sense to someone who hasn't been taking part in this conversation for the last couple years. We're plowing ahead though! If I get the time, I want to throw a new blog entry up on the main page as well.

What would interest you guys at this point? What are you still curious about?

I want to know with Thursday.

Ok, now, seriously, I'm curious about weapon modification, also about fighting giants and pixies, and if there is any new solutions for real world effects. For example, swords being very good against light or no armor, but with very little brute force, compared to axes who are very good because of their sheer momentum.

Obviously I would like to see a combat example, if you have already written one. That would give a pretty good overall vision how that works.

Another cool thing to see would be something more about that default setting (city?).

You can pretty much blame Hector for that one. :)

Have you read our blog? :) http://www.grandheresy.com/blog/2014/4/ ... ex-of-arms

That's quite a broad topic to cover in a forum post. Anything specific about it that particularly interests you?

I addressed some of the principles here: http://www.grandheresyforums.com/viewto ... p=208#p208 (the nomenclature issue I mention in that post has long been resolved)

Hector, consider yourself blamed.

I did, but I doubt the weapon selection is limited only to bows.

Mostly about the danger zone near a giant, where you can get stomped for example.
