In this instance I will burn an SA to resist the temptation. Karl doesn't want to hurt them, much less injure or kill them, but he does want to stop them from screwing up his chances of getting Hilde and Otto to the safe place (the manor). Karl will still try to stop them without bloodshed, or failing that, without anyone dying.Korbel wrote:Of course. For example, you can give one of your successes to Ruthard, so he has 5 and catches them without complications (a tie would mean that we have a compromise). And than you join, I'd say 2 Phrases later (as you would be MoF 2).Stempest wrote:3 successes for me. Can we give successes to make sure one (or two) of us catches them and slows them down for the rest of us?
But before you decide... I'd like to tempt you. Play your Honorable Flaw. Maciej and Twinscars don't deserve death, they don't even want to fight. Is it righteous to attack them?

Re: The Storm - comments, discussions, complains, rolls and other OOC stuff
I was thinking about this and in this combat your SA will not fire. Too indirect. If they get inside to talk with the Lord and if they tell him about you and if it makes entering the manor harder... I'm afraid it's too close to assumption, not directly defending Hilde and Otto. Unless you can convince me?Stempest wrote:Karl doesn't want to hurt them, much less injure or kill them, but he does want to stop them from screwing up his chances of getting Hilde and Otto to the safe place (the manor). What's done is done. Hans has his reasons to do what he did (share successes).

For the record, I wasn't intending for Karl's SA to fire, I was just stating what his k tivation was in my decision not to be tempted. I agree Karl's SA shouldn't fire.

OK. We will go to combat. Proposed setup: longsword against longsword Hans vs Maciej. Everyone must make Ob 1 positioning at Refreshes to avoid slipping in mud. Hans will have Ob 2 in the first Phrase - minor complication. Karl can join after the first Phrase.
Is this OK for you guys? Any questions?
I will give a detailed post in the game afternoon.

It's cool with me. Want to start it here with PMs? Make a new combat thread? Or go to roll20?

Roll20 preffered.
If not, we fight here in this thread - initiative can be sent to third person (temporary judge) as a PM and revealed when he has got both declarations.

Ok, in this case send your initiative roll to Benedict. D6 result and color red\white.
And favoring if you want to do this.
And we will continue here.

OK, I choose between red and white d6 and PM this to Benedict.
I have CP 16 to distribute from and I have to pick n dice from that pool for positioning roll to beat Ob2? When I have rolled the positioning roll I choose how much of the remaining dice I will use first and second tempo?

Exactly this. And don't forget you're using TN 5 (SA is firing).Marras wrote:I have CP 16 to distribute from and I have to pick n dice from that pool for positioning roll to beat Ob2? When I have rolled the positioning roll I choose how much of the remaining dice I will use first and second tempo?
Now - the result of the initiative is white and white, you both are defensive. Just like in Stempest's fight. After rolling more white/white (meaning they are both moving a little more towards manor) we improvised: Benedict rolled a virtual "positioning" roll (full CP against full CP) to cut him off the manor (but Scarface was Advantaged). You can do that too, or just choose to attack - let's not waste more time on rolling white/white.
So, what do you want do to?

So, do we just let the first phrase positioning roll pass as it was white/white phrase?

Yes, but you will not avoid this Ob 2 in the first phrase of actual combat
