Re: The Floating City [OOC] [THREE]
I enjoyed to read The Floating City from the first post and finally found the opportunity to join in this awesome drama. It just started to involve Gasparo and Gregor more than just being the guys in Giovanni's household and I would have loved to see how the inevitable conflict would have turned out that is sure to come between their individual goals, mission and Marco's conscience.
The story unfolded mostly around Marco and his retinue though, and also the to-do list is mostly concerned with things losely related to the Acerbis, and I'm unsure how this will continue without Marco.
Anyways, I'm okay with proceeding or re-starting as long as you guys are still part of it!
Have I missed the reason why you leave Korbel? Or is it just not for everyone to read? Anyways, wish you all the best with whatever is going to happen!

Well I suppose it should be easy enough to "gather" your trio around Giovanni Pico the Magicko, and just make Marco Acerbi an NPC (so the Acerbis will be your ally or foe).EinBein wrote:The story unfolded mostly around Marco and his retinue though, and also the to-do list is mostly concerned with things losely related to the Acerbis, and I'm unsure how this will continue without Marco.

Re: The Floating City [OOC] [THREE]
So Korbel, Benedict and I did a 5hr roll20 binge to finish off Marco's story arc for Korbel's farewell. Act 2 has been concluded and Benedict and I will be doing a write up for it in the next few days.
I had to put Gregor and Gasparo on temporary NPC status to get us through it (they are unharmed) so I'll apologize to Agamemnon and Einbein for having to cut you out of so much of the action. I just desperately wanted Korbel to get the right kind of ending for Marco after more than a year of investment. And I think we succeeded.
With that done, the game will now completely revolve around Ferran, Gasparo and Gregor. So I'll be slowing down the pace of the story to the posting rate that you guys can sustain and I won't be skipping over your input anymore. Thanks for putting up with all that.

Haha, nice reads like some good action! You were right to do it without me, as I lay in bed the last two days to recover some kind of flu...

Yes, that really is where Korbel wanted to end Marco's story. Whether he killed Blasio or gave him mercy is something we may never know.

Great end. So we wait now for the full release of SaS or do we continue with the three of us in BoB and switch over later?

Re: The Floating City [OOC] [THREE]
Yes, was wondering about that too.
Stupid suggestion: maybe we could use Bastards combat and emphases/maneuvers with the current Scoundrels beta until we get the real thing.
On story: Do we return to Mirandola? Or there are other suggestions?

Re: The Floating City [OOC] [THREE]
We'll swap over to S&S as soon as we have enough to be able to run the game using it. Judging by Agamemnon's hints, the next update might be a pretty big one and then he'll have more free time to play. Now that Act 2 is over, I'm in no rush to force Act 3 without all our players.thirtythr33 wrote:I think this is a good time to discuss how we are going to continue. I see the following options:
- We continue from where we are, now following Gasparo, Ferran and Gregor. Possibly going back to Mirandola or something?
- We time jump a significant amount of time. We start something new with Gasparo, Ferran and Gregor, perhaps after the Italian Wars have ended. You get a lot of flexibility in changing up characters if you like.
- We call an end to The Floating City, and I prepare for a new game in a new setting entirely. Based around whatever characters you cook up.
- We call an end to The Floating City and focus on Release the Hounds.

That's a good point to take a small break then. I don't expect the next update today (it's Thursday™ after all), and I'll be leaving on a two-week vacation by the 31st. By vacation I mean to a place where phone lines and wifi are non-existent.thirtythr33 wrote:Now that Act 2 is over, I'm in no rush to force Act 3 without all our players.

You could probably backwards engineer one to the other for now, if you were so inclined. There are some changes coming, but none that would make one seem utterly foreign to the other.Benedict wrote:Yes, was wondering about that too.

The real question here is: Now that the party is essentially three henchman, and the former lead is gone -- where do we want this to go?

Re: The Floating City [OOC] [THREE]
Did some tinkering on Ferran and severed Venice ties, making him a Giovani creature now. It all depends on thirtythr33's approval. When I get it I'll post accordingly so you all know how things developed with Ferran, so you might plan accordingly.Agamemnon wrote:The real question here is: Now that the party is essentially three henchman, and the former lead is gone -- where do we want this to go?

Re: The Floating City [OOC] [THREE]
All approved.
Here's a summary of what your guys cooked up.
So it looks like the common themes are going to be the Occult, Faith and Philosophy.
Giovanni's been paid for with traits by all 3 of you, so he's going to be around.
I've been doing some reading and I'm thinking a 6 month time skip and the game starts moving towards the war-front proper.
Landskenchts, Medici, Popes, Magic and the ongoing sack of Rome coming to and end (yeah, amazingly they sacked the city for 8 months).
