To be honest, if you know what's approximately average, you can give dice pools relative to that, then list which manoeuvres they're most likely to use in a given situation to give them a unique feel in combat.

Yeah, I was just going to ask how Hector knew Matt, but then I realized that they're both from the UK.
Foul things afoot here.

Sonds like a good advice. Maybe there will be a short list that tells how large dice pools represent a total newbie, professional, expert etc. level? That would make things so much easier especially as dice pool systems mask probabilities quite well and the system is new to me.hector wrote:To be honest, if you know what's approximately average, you can give dice pools relative to that, then list which manoeuvres they're most likely to use in a given situation to give them a unique feel in combat.

Yes, that would be mentioned in the character creation chapter somewhere, as how else would you know what level of skills to pick for your PC? I'm quite sure that part will be an intuitive process.Marras wrote:Maybe there will be a short list that tells how large dice pools represent a total newbie, professional, expert etc. level?

So how's that "another teaser" coming along?Agamemnon wrote:As far as multiple opponents, we did a good bit of research on the subject before we even touched it.

We spent a pretty decent amount of time trying to crack this particular chestnut, and we're fairly happy with what we came up with. BUT that's a subject for another teaser!

Re: Teaser #8: Making Maneuvers Managable
lol. Honestly, I was mostly kidding, though this is still something I'd be interested to see. Also, I was wondering how (if at all) you were planning to handle winding and binding - the TRoS subsystem was... a little over-complicated, while the system used in Blade of the Iron Throne (wherein it is essentially just an additional type of defence which works like Counter, but the riposte is easier to defend against if you use the winding defence against it).Agamemnon wrote:Higgins!
