I gave it some thought and here's my offer. If you want, you can get let's say 4 or 5 ranks in a chosen ranged Proficiency. For free. We might say that during the weeks between part 1 and part 2, both Ruthard and Hans had some opportunities to practise and they did just that. But in exchange, every major NPC (like for example Twinscars, Erich and others) will get their bonuses, too (well I won't bump their main melee Proficiencies - that would be unfair - just give them something else to develop their repertoires, probably ranged weapons or maybe some Edges, I don't know).Marras wrote:Hans is an urban craftsman so I don't know how many opportunities he would have had to learn other ranged proficiencies than throwing daggers. But if Ruthard knows how to use a crossbow and we happen to "find" one then Hans is more than willing to learn how to use that.

I gave it some more thought
As we know, some serious rebuilding of the characters will be needed. Attribute list and scale changes. Melee Combat Pools will probably be Agility + Proficiency. 100% accuracy in converting between BoB and S&S is not possible. So why bother? You'll just create your characters from zero again. With ranged Proficiencies, Riding skill and whatever else you desire. They will not be 100% the same as in first part, but it's not a huge problem. Just stick with the most basic choices, Priority picks, main Proficiencies, etc.

Did some editing in part 2 topic. There's gonna be a short scene with Ruthard.
This is how I envision sir Erich and his armor:

Benedict, I think we'll see each other on roll20.

Dear Mother of God, do you have a secret SA about spitting on floors in noble houses, or what? First Ferran in Marco's estate, now this... OK let's make a deal, if Ruthard will do this again in presence of another noble, he will be awarded with 1 story point.Benedict wrote:Ruthard winces at the mention of Georgius, and spits as if to clear his throat from that vile name.

OFC I'd do that, SA or no SA involved. Even if it was infront of an Emperor.Korbel wrote:Dear Mother of God, do you have a secret SA about spitting on floors in noble houses, or what? PS Don't forget, their sene of hygiene was entirely different than ours back then.

Any chance to discern something from this last statement? Maybe an Acumen (a character’s intelligence, reasoning and the ability to learn) or Cunning ( governs awareness, intuition, and speed of thought) check? Too bad there's no Empathy skill, I'd bought it if there was.
Anyway, roll or no roll, can I add an SA in the likes of "Find out more about Lord Erich" ?

Fkorz you can roll Acumen + Cunning. But I won't tell you what is the Obstacle of the test.Benedict wrote:Any chance to discern something from this last statement?
Fkorz for the second time. But I can't guarantee it's gonna be shining in the nearest future (I'll try to include a scene or two if I find a way to fit this into the story).Benedict wrote:Anyway, roll or no roll, can I add an SA in the likes of "Find out more about Lord Erich" ?

Yeah. OK, if you want I can tell you what is going on (in this case this new SA won't be necessary). But maybe you would like to figure this out by yourself? With the help of SA? And I could award you with a Story Point for this succesful roll. You can use it later and even if you do this to discover the truth, it still pumps the Karma score so it's a tangible benefit. And more fun doing the investigationBenedict wrote:Edit: That's 5 vs mystery Ob, correct?

Have an idea, if you're cool with it. I'll write up an SA tomorrow. Don't tell me anything yet.Korbel wrote:Yeah. Probably we will sleep on the road to Siegfried's castle. You could make a post "Ruthard's Dream" where his subconscious provides cryptic clues relating to the perception roll. And let me do the unraveling.

Actually, I was planning a short scene during the journey and now I realized it could serve a similar purpose. So we don't need a dream for that.Benedict wrote:Probably we will sleep on the road to Siegfried's castle. Anyway, do you want a Story Point now, or some solid hints (more than cryptic clues) later? Choose now.

What do you want to take with you? Erich can provide two guards and four or five horses for you.
