Ruthard peeks outside the hut ready for anything. If the street is still clear and no one else takes initiative he opens the door and asks the group to follow him.

A fortified position. The most suitable location seems to be the lord's castle.

Made The Storm roll20 game. No need to clutter the gladiatorial game anymore. :D

Good fight, Benedict! Based on my reading of the rules (no actual combat testing so far) I thought that this system wouldn't offer this ... heroic combat. Well done on how you and Korbel worked that scene and of course how the rules are written!

Thanks! Well, it was a bind actually. First we did Simple Combat (Ruthard vs mob), and Ruthard killed three. Then he tried to intimidate 'em but failed, spent 1 SA for a MOS0 success+major complication, obviously the gang of three. That fight was done normally, maneuvers and all, and Ruthard nearly died there. But all went well in the end. :D

If we were not playing Baby Steps I'd use a Murder Stroke or three.

Band of Bastards is clearly one of the best games I've played for ages. Well written, bloody, and gritty. Really love it. :D

I can't enter through this link. I believe you must create an invitation or something?

True. A little bit of bad luck and you can easily die, even when fighting peasants. Like Geralt... ;)

You don't have to roll, the path is clear. Well, the rain is becoming stronger and stronger, now it's moderate.
How do you approach? The manor is protected with a good wall, there's a gate where guards keep their watch. Do you go directly to them, or do something else?

Hans will take a look at distance to see if the gate is in fact manned or not. I would think that a lord of a village doesn't have a lot of men in arms and at least two of them are in the mob. If the gate is manned Hans will recon other possible ways inside the walls.

OK, first let's see if Karl wants to go to the manor still. He needed Erich's help, but now it's not that urgent (probably).

Unless something else happens in between, does Ruthard reaches the other three? Got a risky plan on making it into the manor. 8-)

Ruthard heads toward the manor. When he leaves the center, on the field nearby he can see another crowd. They surround two men: one very big and unarmed, second with a scarred face and an unsheathed longsword. They both are wearing similar black coats. Peasants are getting ready to attack them.
How big is this crowd? Most probably Ruthard will wait for the most timely moment to catch them unawares so that the two men can escape with him. The more the merrier. ;)

Something similar to what you have faced before.

As the space is open and they're forming more or less a circle, I think they will most probably spot you. Unless you wait until they start fighting, then it should be easier to approach unnoticed.

I think we have had enough of murdering peasants? Do you mind resolving this with Simple Combat? Just to see who takes a wound, if any.
