"A manor, you say?", Hans's eyes glitter briefly. "That would probably be the best place to start, especially if Lord Erich happens to be in that mob, right Karl?"

"Are you mad? You want to break into the house of a lord? Whether he is with this mob or not, either way we'd be arrested, at BEST! Besides, the first thing I am doing is finding Hilde and Otto. What if these lunatics find them? Come with me, we will find my family, and then we can hide out in the smith's workshop. There will be plenty of tools to fortify it, and perhaps a weapon or two, although I hope it does not come to that."

"Who are Hilde and Otto? What if they're in that mob?"

"Tell you what. If the manor is occupied, we go somewhere else. If not, we'll get inside. Besides, nothing's going to happen to us if we're not caught."

"My wife and son. We find them first. They should be at home."

"I still say we go to the Smith afterwards. How can the handful of us protect a place as large as the manor?"

"Oh, I see.", Hans answers after hearing who Karl wants to be found and understands why.

"Where do you live? We'll think about our next move after we get to your family.". Hans already sees all the riches in the manor fading away but for some annoying reason he thinks it's the right thing to do to help this stranger get back to his family.

"Hey, take a look Karl.", Hans whispers. "It's a workshop over there. I would feel a lot better for your family if you were a bit better kitted up. I am sure we can find you something appropriate from that workshop. I shouldn't take long if we take a quick stop there."

Karl looks to be struck with indecision for a moment, looking at the workshop and then the direction of his home, before a steely resolve fills his eyes.

Decision made, he moves towards the workshop, keeping an eye out for inhabitants, and assuming none are present, will attempt to enter.

Hans takes his post as a look-out like it was his second nature as Karl tries to enter the workshop.

The doors are locked and it seems there's no other easy way to enter the building.

When Hans notices the situation he moves to the door and says "I'll handle this. Keep watch that we are not surprised." and begins to pick the lock.

Karl won't notice exactly how Hans gets into the smith, as he is dutifully keeping watch.

Once inside, he will equip himself with the spear and smith's apron. Karl appears to relax slightly in his body, but take on a steely look on his face, when he gets the spear in hand. He appears very natural with the spear in hand.

Upon seeing Hans pocket some coins, Karl will get slightly angry:
"Hey, what are you doing?! We're here to get something to protect ourselves, not to loot the place! Put it back and let's go!"

As Hans is pocketing coins and helping himself for a bit of food and a knife that looks best of the bunch he answers Karl smile on his face.

"Relax, Karl. You had your fun arming yourself and getting some protection as well. Me, I just took something that I need when I get through this storm. You see, without me you wouldn't be holding that spear right now and I guess without it little Otto might not see his father coming to rescue him from these crazy villagers.".

"So, as I'm about ready, I suggest we leave immediately so you can get to your family as soon as possible with the best equipment you can have. Right?"

Hans continues getting the "loot" packed as he speaks and looks ready to leave as he finishes his answer to Karl

Karl looks ready to argue with Hans until Otto is mentioned, at which point a snarl crosses Karl's face and he curses not quite under his breath at Hans.

Karl will storm out of the smith's workshop with his borrowed armaments and move quickly towards his home with little regard as to whether Hans is keeping up.

Hans smiles briefly but happily as he quietly follows Karl a few paces behind. Almost as an afterthought he closes the door behind him.

Two men arrive where Karl lives.
- What... what are doing, Karl? Do you have the herbs for Otto? - asks Hilde, watching surprised as her husband enters the hut.
