The Storm - OOC

Post by Korbel »

As in the title.
We play in a historic setting. Place - where modern Germany is, a village of about 100-200 people. Time - late XIV century. So we have typical medieval weapons and armors, English longbows massacre Frenchmen, there was the Black Death, infantry with polearms is becoming more important... and so on.
Any questions?
When you guys are ready, post your characters here or in separate topics and we start. As Marras needs some time, I think we can start with a scene involving only Stempest's character (which is named Karl... seems like every game must have a Karl :D).
Have fun and don't die too early!

PS. It seems that your characters will not oppose, at least at the beginning. But it might happen, depending on your actions. If you want, you can keep your character's (stats and all) secret, so there's more fun if there is a conflict between your characters.
As you wish.

We can keep characters hidden in this one, at least initially.

OK, as you wish.
If there are spectators willing to know the character's sheets, you should probably PM Marras and Stempest. Or maybe there's a way to post the sheets on forums, but hidden in a spoiler or locked (so that Marras/Stempest can't see them), or just post them the regular way and the second player just won't look there. Your choice.

Oh, sorry, I forgot it was your character and didn't realize you changed the name :D
Anyway, "Karl" is quite popular here, I suppose :D

The introductory scene is up, Stempest you can play.

You guys remember you have 5 points to spend for Narrative Effects. As this is a one-shot, it's probably wise to use them and not hoard for future.

I forgot - do you want to use some Levers, like Baby Steps (no Advanced Maneuvers in melee)? Let me know.

Frankly the combat part is quite fuzzy to me at the moment so I will be making stupid decisions in any case (at the combat). Of course it can be easier for me if we stick to basic maneuvers but it's OK if we use advanced maneuvers, too.

I will post something about Karl (probably 36 hours from now, as I am busy tonight) that gives a rundown that his fellow villagers would know, or that any visitor could easily find out.

OK.
Do you guys want to write in past or present tense? First or third person?

Happy with present tense, and apologise for when I inevitably slip into future tense (E.g. Karl will do X). I will try to stick with the nominated tense.

Posted something on Karl. It's not much, but then Karl is a pretty quiet guy.

Same form as in the Floating City works fine.

OK, I'll make some edits and stick to 3. person, present time.

Question: Are Agathe and Agnete the two girls that Gunther was harassing recently, and that Karl got him to apologise to?

No, they are not the girls he harassed.

You rushed forward and at this moment you're almost there.

Does Karl know the girls?
What does he know about them?
Does he have any idea what they think of him?

I am trying to establish whether Karl thinks he could talk them down, or whether he needs to try to snatch the scythe.

Yes, they live in the village. But their father is not your close friend.
Stempest wrote:What does he know about them?
Nothing interesting, beside they have always stuck close to Georgius. Other than that, they're just working girls.
Stempest wrote:Does he have any idea what they think of him?
Not really.

You need to decide yourself. Unless you activate your Edge... ;)
