If I'm to stay with Francesca and Eleanora, I think I should take all of my gear (armor and weapons) there. I can't fight with rapier, but Eleanora...

My general idea is: Karl, Giorgio and Ferran hide at the woodcarver. Cirillo will be in move, checking Claudio, spreading rumors at the school and discreetly checking our ambush (ready to assist, if needed). Marco stays with Francesca. Do you guys agree?
But first, I will ask Cirillo to take care of my arm, if there's time for that.

Good point. Seems like Acerbi Household is the obvious choice. You should be safe there, you can keep an eye on Claudio (and Giacomo and Blasio...) and prepare for your tutor's visit.
But these are only my suggestions. Let's see what Alex and Danny and Benedict think.

Cirillo should try to avoid any contact with Rocco. We are going to have enough trouble with Blasio already. That is why I was hesitant about spreading the rumour at the fencing school, but at the same time, we cannot stay in ambush for a week, so I'm okay with spreading the rumours. Cirillo should restrict his movement in town: either stay at the Acerbi household with Francesca or he can stay in ambush. His choice.

I don't trust Farran as he is a total stranger who just arrived at a strange time. But we could use an extra hand, so I will simply keep an eye on him for now. Farran could even stay outside the woodcarver's place: Blasio will not recognize him as one of the Acerby bodyguard. At the same time, I think we could plan our ambush well enough so that when we spring it, Blasio has no easy way to escape.

Killing him seems too much for committing a rape. Also, I expect that killing a noble is a big thing. At the same time, he is a powerful noble so if we simply injure/humiliate him, we will make a powerful enemy. I don't have an easy solution

It is entirely possible that there are at least Rocco's men loitering around the fencing school so it may not be possible to avoid contact with Rocco and/or his gang.

I agree, but I don't see an easy solution. We beat him up with clubs, than we tie him up. And after that? At one point we will have to release him. And now we will have a very mad noble with a lot of ressources and a grudge against us. And everytime we will want to have a quiet drink in a tavern, we will have to watch our back in case he sends someone to stab us...

I guess feuds between noble families were common and probably settled with money at one point. But before an agreement is reached, we are going to be easy target for Blasio.

Although killing him seems a bit extreme, I see less consequence in the long term. We kill him and dump his body in an alley. Although it becomes more complicated if he shows up with his own bodyguards...

And since we are OOC, I would keep this discussion from Marco. As a noble, he will not have to fear the same retribution as we do.

And as far as Karl is concerned, there is no doubt that Blasio (or anyone else) is guilty if he shows up at the woodcarver's place.

A nobleman isn't likely to hold a grudge against the mercenary that came to rough him up I think. More likely he views you as a puppet being controlled by Marco.

Technically, according to the law, there is no difference between a nobleman and a commoner.
In practice, it's very bad idea for the commoner unless he has really good reasons. Technically he has the same rights as you, but he knows the law inside and out, he has a lot of money to throw around for bribes and help and he probably has a couple of friends on the panel of judges.
Think of it kind of like assaulting a Judge in today's world.

The men who did the assault would definitely be up for the small fine (assuming they didn't justify their force).
The family may be up for a nothing or a huge fine, depending on if Blasio could show that the Acerbis were mounting a coordinated attack on him. Realistically, the law probably wouldn't trace back to the Acerbis but the politicking around the city would.

What about the penalty for taking the law into our own hand?

Murder > Death
Theft > Huge fine or death on repeat offences
Maiming > Large fine or a year or more in jail
Rape > Variable. Depends on the class of the victim. Fine is equal to her dowry.
Assault > Small fine or a few nights in jail if you cant afford

Very likely true.
The only way it could come back to you is if a friend or family of his was sure enough you did it to take up the cause themselves. For example, Giacomo could challenge you to a duel or Blasio's family might just murder you back. Or they could take you to court and pay someone to give false testimony or something.
