Riddle Game #12

Post by higgins »

As there's still no news from the stateside, let's do a classic riddle game. Here you can see my gorgeous assistant help me sort out old scrap materials for the project.

Some of you will probably recognize this, but let's not spoil it for the others. ;)

Indeed, I do. This is a classic stance from cat-fu. Looks innocent, but he's ready for attack. And he keeps his rear safe, with a great tail-control. I've learned to respect this stance - the hard way.

Fair enough. The item that Yennefer lies upon is almost entirely done.

On the picture I'm simply figuring out if I can use the cloth from my old tabard to give it a more authentic-looking outer layer.

Do ask questions of it's still to vague. I can say hot or cold. ;)

The black semi-circle looks like it could be a lendenier, otherwise I would guess some kind of armor padding. The hole on the right looks like an arm hole (your old tabbard you are cutting up?).

No idea how I missed this post, but it is indeed a lendenier. :)

For those unfamiliar with the term, it's a historically plausible leg harness suspension system. It's basically a textile belt about a span wide, narrower on the top so it can't slide down over your hips.

It's a new concept for me, so, I'm still doubling it up with my movement restricting (but secure) suspenders. Hopefully it takes away some of that weight from the shoulders. Initial tests look promising, but the last time I ditched my suspenders and relied on a belt alone, I ended up with a knee injury as the armor slid down. As such, I'm taking the adjustment period slowly.

I'm on mobile at the moment and cannot provide pictures of my own, so, I'll link my source for the build. http://knyghterrant.com/index.php/2016/ ... ommentary/

It's the neck hole, but otherwise correct again. :)

You can't go wrong with Ian LaSpina. His Historical Leg Harness Suspension of the Late 14th and Early 15th Centuries video is actually where I first heard the term lendeneir. :)

To be honest, so did I. And no, you can't really go wrong with him. Such an outstanding scholar. Take a day off watching him and you'll get what most people (including myself) took years to piece together.
