Forum Makeover
Okay.
I have to admit this wasn't planned at all.
The weekend on the forums seemed unusually quiet, and having just read about advancements in ransomware, I figured this lull was the best time in recent memory to apply some security updates. After I had updated the phpBB core, it turned out that our old (and much beloved) forum style was no longer compatible with the new and upgraded forum software.
Not wanting to revert back to the old version due to security concerns, I scrounged around and found this style. Kind of subdued. Dark with red accents. Not as cozy as our last one, but not bad either.
So, I urge you to browse around. Click everywhere. Try everything. If you run into any issues, please let me know.
Tapatalk people. Tell me if everything works on your end.
Also, I haven't implemented a light theme yet. If everything works, I will. Bear with me, please.
On the plus side, we no longer need to resize our images into 572 pixels wide for them not to break the forum formatting. Even the 4chan fecht fit just fine on my 1080p screen.
The massive header aside, mobile view seems considerably cleaner as well.
Is the white text too bright? Please DO tell me, if it is!
All other feedback welcome, too! Both good and bad.
Edit: Ohh, it highlights new posts in white, and it will then be converted into gray as you've seen them. Not sure what to think of that yet. Do let me know!

I've also increased the avatar size limit to 96x96. Get rid of those dull question marks, guys!

BTW, do we allow non-mods to wear helmets on their avatars?

A well-made helmet, being necessary to the security of an intact skull, the right of the forumites to keep and bear armor shall not be infringed.higgins wrote:Much better.Agamemnon wrote:better?

Touché. What was I thinking?
Also, I like this new notification feature quite a bit. Apparently, when someone quotes you, a red notification appears on the upper right corner of the boards. This is super neat!

You do have a custom title. You're practically there already.thirtythr33 wrote:Helmet avatar [check]higgins wrote:BTW, do we allow non-mods to wear helmets on their avatars?

Ah, this is unfortunate.
I too liked the old interface.

Avatar added. WITHOUT helmet! As for dagger-related signature, I have no idea.

I also changed the [youtube] bbcode. It now works with video ID alone (more secure) and we have a button for it!
Edit: And I fixed most the old ones to follow the new format. *whew*
