Forum colors

This is something that's pretty personal and I don't necessarily expect you do change anything. But I do want to let you know that the forum colors are troublesome for me. The light text on the dark backgrounds hurts my eyes. This has gotten worse for me over the years, and it's frustrating since a lot of website choose similar color schemes. No offense to Ian Plumb who I believe is the one who set this up for you. I do like the look and feel of this forum template (or theme, whatever it's called), because it's evocative and matches the fantasy/historical theme of the game. It's just the colors in some places that bother me. If you have the time and interest, I'd appreciate a different color scheme. But it might be just me. (If you want help finding and installing a new template/theme, I'd be happy to help. I've done it for phpBB forums before.)

I'm glad your brought this subject up. For me, it's the exactly other way around -- light-on-dark feels much better to me than the overly bright background on most dark-on-light forums. And Ian didn't set this site up. I did.

But fret not, my friend. We have a couple of alternatives available right now as we speak. You can click here and choose another option from under "My board style".

That said, both those other options pretty much suck for our theme purposes. So, if you (or anyone else for that matter) manage to find a free phpBB3 compatible style that is easier on your eyes, then I'd be happy to install them as alternative choices for the users -- I for one never used the default massive-brown-image-in-the-background style on TROSfans, so, I definitely see where you're coming from.

Silly me. I didn't even think to check to see if you had installed other styles. Thanks for the reminder.

I had assumed Ian set it up because I know he's done it for another gaming forum I regularly visit that defaulted to the same style as this one. Coincidence, I guess.

While we're talking about forum settings, I don't suppose you would be interested in installing the Tapatalk API on here, would you? It would make my forum consumption a tad bit easier. But if it's time consuming I'd rather not distract you from your game designing activities!

We might be reorganising the board a bit in the near future, but once that's done, I'll definitely look into that. Bug me about it, if I don't.
