Buckler indecision

Post by higgins »

Can you guys help me pick a color for the new buckler? My usual helpers seem confused.

I need one color for the front and one for the back. We're dealing with some fabric samples that I stumbled upon a while back, so, this is all I that have and I can't make the back and front the same color. I put the boss in the middle for you to gauge the color contrast. The fabric will darken with glue.

I say you use a strip of every color and make the biggest, rainbowy-est buckler possible and thus win us social accolades on twitter.

The Rainbow Warrior!

Fix an axis on your strap to spin the buckler around to go all Nyan cat on your enemies!!

I'd go with a colour following the colour of the rest of your livery, to make the buckler part of the whole and thus less apparent as a means of defense.

Don't go with too bright a colour on the backside (your side) of the buckler, in case you hav the sun in your back:)

I'd choose the darkest green for the front and black for the other end.

Btw how big in diameter is the buckler anyway? Is it the wooden thing next to your cat?

Actually I could totally make one down the line. :P I already have some scraps left over from the previous green build.

Yup, that's it.

The light color and the sun is a non-issue. If anything, your opponent's helm is far more reflective and he's the one you should be looking at, not your own buckler.

As for the black, that was the only color I had any plans for as i figured it was the only tone that matched the deep cherry red next to it. Though Yennefer is doing a good job hiding both.

So, darkest green it is, then! It's a good match for the black boss. :)

I'll reserve my right to pick the back color once I manage to find the piece of plume I had lying around for a handle. The fabric color needs to complement the wood.
