In anticipation...

I'm sitting here, in a boring room
It's just another snowy Thursday afternoon
I'm wasting my time, I got nothing to do
I'm hanging around, I'm waiting for you
(...)

Waiting for you, Chapter Three!

Maybe you guys could recommend me some reading / watching for killing time? Recently I found articles/videos about "Adventuring in Medieval Campaigns" interesting for me (like many Lindybeige videos, one or two from Matt Easton... the article about town watch on Black Gate, etc., etc.). Tips for renaissance gaming also appreciated. What do you suggest?

First of all, i'd suggest putting links to stuff like that if you mention it! :p

That said, I recommend Sargon of Akkad's gaming channel: Vae Victis - particularly the playlist on Dungeon Mastery

Lots of material there, but quick scan reveals that it's more about DM-ing techniques - which is not what I'm looking for.
I've been thinkin more about this, you know... let's say, "real-life" tips. I mean, what was life in medieval times, how poeple were really living, how to build a "sensible" world.
Like this Lindybeige video(s) about torches:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HQZqbGME5HY
Or Matt's material:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=llPAuGy6XvQ
The title says what I'm looking for: "advice for roleplaying games from history".
The article on Black Gate:
https://www.blackgate.com/2015/11/24/an ... tch-where/
And so on... So, can you help me?

Oh, suddenly this has become much less urgent ;)

Greedily I refresh my RSS feed,
for a Beta document to read.
Alas I am forced to wait,
suffering in the Australian heat,
For character creation meat.
Perhaps answering your question will abate!

Some Youtubers I like:
Knyght Errant really in depth analysis of medieval armor
Crash Course History for when I just want the cliff notes

Some neat random articles:
Breaking out of a scientific magic system
Ogres vs Trolls Lots of well researched info about folklore here

Renaissance stuff:
I've been reading up on Hermeticism
as well as Law and Punishment in Early Renaissance Venice (Guess what setting I want to use for the PBP game :))

For some "how to adventure" stuff:
Town Watches
Misconceptions Tonnes of great stuff in /r/AshHistorians

Chapter Three? That's cute. Try Chapters three through eight!

Ah, yeah. Somehow I thought the whole character creation will be presented in a one, big chapter: Chapter Three. That's why I wrote it like this. Nevermind.
Downloaded, reading, making notes. Looks great.

PS. 33, many thanks.

Yes, it takes time to read it :D So far I like what I have read. I have even been toying with character ideas that I would use to test the character creation rules.

Heh. But how do you have a major and minor edge, along with two major flaws?

Because I just picked stuff and didn't really use the character generation system.

I had in mind Cat of the Alleys, but that will do.

You can always ask for more flaws if GM approves. ;)
