There are also ctrl-alt-character sequences that add accents the the like, depending on your input language (on windows at least; on linux you can just go ahead and use them). Unfortunately, I have yet to find a list of these sequences anywhere on the internet, but they do exist (I have used them for Welsh and French).

Sure, and on many touch screen devices you can just hold a key down to get more options... but I think the ban was less technical in its nature and more based on the game design principles. :)

That first one is the only difficult one for me :) Although ü is not in use around here, it is basically pronounced like y (we call that letter as German 'y'), right? Can you give any tips about that weird one? :)

BTW, I visited Tallinn couple of weeks ago. It was otherwise a great trip but it was raining practically the whole day we were there...

That's correct. Finnish vowels are the same as in Estonian, whereas Swedes use essentially the same markings that you and I do, but pronounce many vowels differently, which is totally messed up.

Ignore the pronunciation when the kid says the letter individually. Looks like the editor inserted Ö audio clip by mistake or something. The rest of it is spot on.

Reminds me when we came back from our Polish-Czech trip. BEAUTIFUL warm weather the whole way back. Then in the mid-Latvia at 5AM there's cold wind and fog with a dribble of rain. Yup... soon home.

Me: but umlauts are meaningful in real life
Agamemnon: I'm sure they are. For an American/English audience though, they are very foreign. To even use them, I'd need to memorize alt-codes

Me: the Book 1 is still in Arabic
Agamemnon: huh?
Me: I mean in the header
Me: in text, it's always Book I

Clearly, we're working too late into the night.

I will admit, that comment wasn't my finest.

We've developed a bad habit of working weird hours to get this done. I wonder if it's not beginning to take a toll on my brain. I may be quite mad before this is over. Quite mad.

We only have to hope that the association works both ways. :D
