BTW, are Hans and Karl alone or is Gunther with them?

Karl will look around the workshop for anything that may be of use in defending himself. A weapon would be great, but a smith's hammer will do in a pinch. He'll consider any armour, although is not expecting any in a simple village smith's workshop.

OK, it fires, you succeed. What are you looking for? Karl wants a weapon... I'll roll to pick a random one. There are 33 (not counting daggers), so:

Oh, a spear. How do you like it? Anyway, there are no armors, but I think you could don the smith's apron, it should give you AV 2 (as thick leather) to chest, abs, groin, hips and thighs.

Money for starters. Daggers or other valuable looking piece of craftmanship will do, too. Hans has to keep relatively light, so nothing heavy (like lots of tools) will do.

1 mark in coin. There are some simple belt knives. Food, looks like he didn't starve this winter. Some typical tools and house amenities. If you want something specific, I think we could roll and see if you can find it. But searching the house will take time.

Hans settles for cash, a dagger and some food (as he must be starving by now).

OK, guys. If Hans takes the money, he gets 1 Story Point and Karl loses one. If the coins stay where they should stay, Hans loses 1 SP and Karl gets one. Or you can find another way to settle this or find some excuses, I don't know... roleplay

Hans intends to move quietly. If Karl does the same, he keeps his mouth shut otherwise he has to ask Karl to be more careful with his step.

Karl moves with purpose but still attempts to be careful and stealthy. He will do Hilde and Otto no good if he is dead or cornered by the mob.

OK, Hans wins one Story Point... but! Karl doesn't lose one. As he doesn't have the time to argue with Hans, being in hurry to find his family (Story Aspect).
