Fine.

Marco goes to the prisoners and starts untying them.

They were not tortured, of course. Rocco lied to you, I guess. - Marco says louder so he can be heard on the lower floor.

Rambaldo holds his hands out for Marco to untie. When he is done, he takes the gag out of his mouth and wipes away the drool that was on his chin. He gives Marco a hard look but only lets out a short "humph" before beginning to limp towards the stairs, his groin and hip still hurting him. When the other two prisoners are released, they come to Ramboldo's side and help him down the stairs.

They descend the stairs slowly, picking their way through the traps. When they are in the second story room with the others the gruff thug by the door nudges of the crossbowmen and says "Go and catch up to the others. Call off the attack and tell them to lay low a while." He nods, slings the crossbow over his shoulder and runs into the night.

Cirillo watches nervously behind his crossbow how things proceed.

How did you do that?!? - Marco approaches Ferran excited, but with a dose of disgust seeing all the blood.

Ferran grabs a rag and starts cleaninng himself as he responds to Marco.

"Rocco and his men had us cornered and outnumbered. If we'd get down to actual combat with them things were really grim for us. I sensed great pride in Rocco. I saw a chance in that, and my gamble paid off.

I angered him enough to start a fight on my terms instead of his. Don't forget senor, able warriors exist everywhere, despite their reputations, upbringing, or walks of life. Rocco in his anger neglected that and paid it with his life.

I understand your concern about killing, if it could be avoided, I'd spared him. That would get us killed. Between the death of one man and the loss of several lives I had to choose the lesser of two evils."

"You did well, Ferran, you did well. Against those odds you probably saved our lives and also many of Rocco's gangers...", Cirillo says after getting down. Then his voice goes down to whisper as he sees Rocco laying in his own blood.

Cirillo watches the dead man that suddenly doesn't look so frightening anymore.

"Rocco the Red. You should have listened to me. I never cheated on your game. Your duel was a court of law and your demise is a clear indication that I am innocent of your accusations. Now rest."

Rambaldo looks around at the men he has left. Rambaldo turns to one of them and says to him "Bring a boat around to the dock downstairs." The man nods and exists the front door. He points at to two others and says "Take him down stairs." gesturing to Rocco's corpse. The men jump to the command; one taking him by the ankles and the other by the wrists and they head towards the staircase. Rambaldo and the other prisoners follow behind.

They leave behind Rocco's sallet helm, breatplate, poleaxe and entrails. A large smeared track of blood and bowels marks their way across the wooden warehouse floor.

Marco takes a deep breath, keeps the air inhaled, and covers his mouth and nose with a cloth.

"Please, take care of this. I'll wait upstairs. I'm sorry, I can't, that's disgusting..."

When all the thugs leave, Karl looks around:
"Well, it looks like we won't be needing all these traps. Let's start cleaning things up..."

Karl than spends a few hours removing all the traps and cleaning the blood.

"Yeah, looks like that.", Cirillo answers and helps with cleaning up.
