Maybe we should start using Advanced Maneuvers? Scrap these Baby Steps. In the worst case, the fights will be a little longer.

About time I'd say.Korbel wrote:Maybe we should start using Advanced Maneuvers? Scrap these Baby Steps.
Or they will be brutally faster.Korbrel wrote:In the worst case, the fights will be a little longer.
I was hoping they'd piss and poop their pants, maybe even stumbling backwards from fright, putting them at a disadvantage for a single phrase if they missed an Ob3 Steel check.Korbel wrote:What additional bonus, based on the roll, would you like to get?
Not much use for that, don't want to take any prisoners anyway, but why not?Korbel wrote:My proposition: in the process you win a nice, 3 feet long piece of high quality, but relatively lightweight chain.
That's cool. You can start with the sword in hands and the gate is open.Benedict wrote:Seriously now, I'd prefer it if the act was so fast and smooth, that Ruthard has time to place the hammer in his belt and grab the longsword Twinscars tosses at him, so he starts the melee with sword in hand.
Stempest lives in Australia, he's 7-8 hours ahead of us I believe. He said he generally can play on evenings, which is in the middle (or early afternoon) of the day for us.Marras wrote:Me and Korbel live with one hour difference in time zones but I have understood that Stempest lives quite far away (but don't know where Benedict lives), so I don't know how well we can manage a Roll20 session with everyone present.
Well I sometimes I am, but I'm working on it.Marras wrote:Personally I believe we should be able to trust that Korbel is not a dick
I'm already ready, actually. I have a clear vision of what will be the guards trying to do. If you want I can declare first. If this doesn't spoil the most fun part of the skirmishes - guessing. As you wish, guys. Personally I trust you will stick to the planned action. I mean, even if turns out to be a crappy decision, you have the option to burn a point and change the action. I would prefer the first option (sending the rolls to somebody else in the forums), but I'm happy with other solutions and won't argue. But first and foremost - let's wait and see what Stempest has to say.Marras wrote:and he chooses beforehand what dice he will roll and lets us know when he is ready.
Good night!Benedict wrote:I live in Greece, its 23.20 atm here, and off to sleep shortly.
Let it be.Benedict wrote:I'd say better make a new OOC thread labeled combat to have it all there.
Even getting 3 people in Roll20 at once seems like a miracle. So don't worry about it.Stempest wrote:Trying to get me into Roll20 at the same time as the rest of you will be a hiding to nothing.
Don't worry mate. Family comes first.Stempest wrote:The two hours a day I am sometimes free is still at the whim of my toddler.
A phrase-by-phrase sounds like a crawl. A single sequence can take up to 3 phrases. If all is cool with it, is it ok if you declare action per round and have Korbel play it out for you?Stempest wrote:Karl will basically look to skewer someone if he gets the opportunity, or if an enemy if focused on him, fight defensively so someone else can skewer the guy. Based on that scream earlier, we've got a slight numbers advantage, right? (Unless Gunther joins in).
I'll still struggle to get involved on a phrase-by-phrase basis.
It's more practical for Korbel to do that, he has your stats after all. Unless you want to PM me your stats, I'd be more than happy to help.Stempest wrote:I am happy for you (Benedict) or Korbel (or Marras, FWIW) to run Karl in combat.
