I think they could have had that sort of soldier's camaraderie that you see in WWII vets.

Certainly. It is still a bit different than having been in the same company.

Alex, your Mass Weapons should be 5 total, shouldn't they?

Korbel: I think you are right.

Otherwise it seems pretty interesting character. I especially like the phobia of horses although I think it would (even as a minor flaw) make even driving a cart very tough. You would still have to get pretty near a horse to harness/unharness it etc. Of course he might have learned it before the accident.

Are you thinking about joining the game with this character or is this "just" a practice like my first iteration of my character?

You're right, my bad :)

He'll never get in cart drawn by a horse, unless he absolutely has no other choice. He might ride in the back if someone else is driving the cart.

I think joining the "play by post" game could be a lot of fun

So i had the following Lady in mind. I'm not sure that she's suited to the Venice setting (in fact i'm very confident that she isn't at all suited), but i wanted to make this character so here you go.

Lady Diana, the Runaway

Concept: a nobleman's daughter who ran from home to avoid her arranged marriage and joined a mercenary company under a false name.

Description: a wiry woman with fire in her eyes and the wild beauty of a gorse bush. Her coarse hair falls in copper curls.

Priorities
5 - Stats
4 - Social Class (cash out at 1 lower)
3 - Proficiencies
2 - Skills
1 - Gifts & Flaws

Stats
Strength: oo
Stamina: ooo
Agility: ooo
Speed: oooo
Acumen: ooo
Cunning: oooo
Social: ooo
Willpower: ooooo*

Gifts & Flaws
minor Gift: not sure yet, but i was thinking Retainer (an admirer/lover from the mercenary company)
Major Flaw: Enemy, if it makes sense. Either the Nobleman she was promised to, or some enemy she made while working as a mercenary.
Minor Flaws: Temper, Distinguishing Feature (Redhead - possibly not suitable according to the Flaw's description)

Proficiencies
Longsword: ooooo o
Daggers: ***oo
Crossbows: oo (If available, Firearms instead. Love me some gonnes.)

Skills
Trade - Mercenary: ooo
Athletics: oo
Command: oo
Impersonation: ooo (very important)
Politics: oo
Oration: oo
Steel: o
Streetwise: o
Survival: o
Warfare: o

Story Aspects
"I will make my own name in this world. I will forge my own legend no matter the cost!"

NPCs: Todo

Overall, i feel the whole concept is pretty basic and i fear a bit cliche. :/
(There are many cliche characters like this but this one is mine.)
The main conflict here is that she wants to be in the limelight, she wants to be a force of (if necessary, violent) change in society; yet she has to keep a low profile to avoid her would-be husband's lackeys.

Now all i need is a sword, dagger, armour and a horse.

Unfortunately i can't think as to how a woman would acquire plate armour... cause i definitely would want that (although plate would require more than 24 mk probably? we'll see.)

EDITS: moved some things around.

To be suited to the proposed campaign, I think some of those characters would best get some Italian names :D

Otherwise the whole band will be a set of strangers in a local setting ;)

I just didn't know where else to put a character.

Sorry it's taken me so long to reply to this thread.
Alex wrote:I also want him to have a loyal dog. Can an animal count as a Retainer at one point?
Yes, that is perfectly fine. Alternately, you could take Animal Kin and simply purchase the dog as equipment.
